What is Stay n' Sip

We are Stay n’ Sip, a family business that stands for quality, inclusivity and convenience. 

Stay n’ Sip began in 2020 when a French boy met an Australian girl while they were studying wine together in Australia’s oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley. 

The French boy, Pierre, had been living in busy Paris with its vibrant nightlife and couldn’t believe that there was nowhere to go in the beautiful wine country to taste wine after 5pm. 

The Australian girl, Mercedes, was born and raised in the Hunter Valley. She had been working in cellar doors for years, loved hosting people and organising events so she and Pierre decided to put all of their passion for wine, love of people and boundless energy into finding a way for visitors to their region to keep learning about wine into the night. 

Today, Stay n’ Sip is transforming the way you enjoy wine tasting by bringing the best of the Hunter Valley directly to you in your accommodation, home or event venue at a time that suits you.

Are you a Wine Tour ?

Stay n' Sip redefines the Hunter Valley wine tour and offers a unique, luxurious mobile wine tasting experience that brings the best of Hunter Valley wines directly to your accommodation, whether you're staying in the vineyards or in Sydney.

Which winery do you use to source the wine for all your experiences?

The beauty of Stay n' Sip is that we aren't attached to one single winery so the wines we bring along to our experiences are of the best quality and sourced by us from boutique local producers and often, from private cellars.

Based on discussions with you before the experience, we determine which wines we think are the best match for you.

If I love the tasting, can I buy the wines we tried?

Yes, your Stay n' Sip host can facilitate purchase of the wines you have tasted and depending on your location and spend, deliver the order to you the following day at your accommodation, home or office.

*Shipping fee may apply if your experience is outside of our delivery radius.

How many people is too many people?

We don't like limitations, we'll look after as many people as you've got.

Our staffing ratio is 1 Stay n' Sip host per 25 guests. For groups of over 80 people we will work with you to provide a bespoke experience sure to please your guests.

What services does Stay n' Sip offer?

  • Private Wine Tasting: You will be guided through a premium wine tasting by our professional wine hosts who are passionate about sharing their wine knowledge. Each wine you sip will be rare, back vintage or museum and have been specially sourced for you from boutique producers and private cellars.

    The wines are selected not only for their exceptional quality but also to punctuate the story of the Hunter Valley's rich history and our hero grape varieties.

    Throughout your tasting, you will nibble on cheese, crackers and honeycom, all sourced from local Hunter Valley producers.

  • Fun Wine tasting: Kick back in your accommodation and have us bring a game-ifed, five star wine tasting to you. During the 1.5 hours experience, you will compete in teams to win two wine related games including wine bingo and wine n' letters.You will be guided through a premium wine tasting by our professional wine hosts who are passionate about sharing their wine knowledge. Each wine you sip will be rare, back vintage or museum and have been specially sourced for you from boutique producers and private cellars.

    Learn all about the wines selected not only for their exceptional quality but also to punctuate the story of the Hunter Valley's rich history and our hero grape varieties.

    Throughout your tasting, you will nibble on cheese, crackers and honeycomb, all sourced from local Hunter Valley producers.

  • Gourmet Wine Tasting: Stay in your accommodation and have us bring a perfectly paired, five star tasting experience to you. Over 1.5 hours you will sample five local cheeses and two handcrafted chocolates from the Hunter Valley.Each will be paired with a rare, back vintage or museum wine from a boutique producer or private cellars.

  • Paint n'Wine Tasting: Sip, swirl and brush your way through this in house private wine tasting experience in the comfort of your accommodation. Everything you require to create a masterpiece will be provided so while you taste seven rare, back vintage or museum wines, your Stay n' Sip host will guide you through a fun and interactive painting session, providing step-by-step instructions to create your very own wall worthy piece.

No painting experience is necessary – your host will help you bring your vision to life!

  • Sensorial Wine Tasting: Designed for couples and small groups, this wine tasting experience is a deep dive intoHunter Valley winemaking and the hero varieties grown there. During this experience you will taste seven rare, back vintage or museum wines all guided by your Stay n' Sip host. You will also learn how to identify wine varieties based on their colour and aroma characteristics using the Le Nez du Vin 54 aroma kit. Each wine will be paired with a delectable locally made cheese or handmade chocolate bon bon to highlight flavour characteristics.

How do I book a service with Stay n' Sip?

  • Choose the wine tasting experience that meets your needs from our range of services.
  • Book online by selecting the quantity of people attending, time and date of experience. Enter the location where you would like the wine tasting to take place. It can be anywhere in New South Wales, we are completely mobile!
  • Pay a deposit of just 25% to secure your booking.
  • We will contact you 1-2 weeks prior to your booked date to secure final guest numbers, any dietary requirements or mindful drinkers amongst your group and issue your final invoice.
  • On the day of your booking, your private wine educator will arrive approximately 1 hour prior to your experience time at your chosen location to begin setting up for your group.
  • Your experience will go for 1-2 hours, after which your private wine educator will pack up, clean the space utilised and depart.
  • Any wine ordered following your experience will be delivered to you either the following day or be posted via our preferred courier.

 What is included in a mobile wine tasting experience?

When you book a Stay n' Sip experience, we take care of everything to ensure you have a seamless and enjoyable wine tasting event. Each experience includes:

  • Curated Selection of Wines: Enjoy a range of premium wines carefully chosen for your tasting.
  • Decorations: We provide tasteful decorations to enhance the ambiance of your event.
  • Slates and Glassware: Professional wine slates and glassware for wine and water are included.
  • Food Pairings: Depending on the experience, we may offer cheese, crackers, and chocolate to complement your wines. (Note: Food options vary by experience.)

The only things you’ll need to arrange are the venue and any necessary tables or seating. We handle the rest, ensuring that your event is perfectly planned and executed.

What do I need to do?

You only need to have table space and a seat for each guest, we bring everything else required for your tasting experience.

Can I choose the wine I want to taste?

Yes you can but the beauty of Stay n' Sip is that we are not tied to a single winery, so the wines we bring to our experiences are of the highest quality and sourced from local producers and often private cellars. Based on discussions with you before the experience, we determine which wines we think will suit you best.

Are your experiences kid-friendly?

Stay n' Sip is the perfect choice for intergenerational family gatherings, offering a seamless experience where there's no need for babysitters. Parents can keep an eye on their babies and toddlers while enjoying a gourmet wine tasting session. For non-alcoholic drinkers and mindful drinkers, we offer a curated selection of refreshing mocktails, ensuring everyone feels included. Our experiences go beyond just wine, with delicious pairings like artisan cheese and indulgent chocolate to delight all ages. Whether you're savoring a glass of wine or a creative mocktail, Stay n' Sip provides a family-friendly atmosphere for all to enjoy.

Can I book at the last minute?

To ensure the best possible experience, we kindly ask that all Stay n' Sip experiences be booked at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to prepare and deliver top-tier service for your event. However, for last-minute plans, give us a call, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request. We kindly request that you inform us of these preferences in advance so we can prepare accordingly and ensure a seamless experience

Can Stay n' Sip experiences include beer, spirits, or international wines?

Stay n' Sip initially offers a selection of 7 high-quality local wines carefully chosen by our team. However, we are flexible and can adapt to your preferences. If you have specific requests for beer, spirits (such as gin), or international wines, please let us know. We are happy to accommodate your desires and customize the experience to suit your needs.

What if I am dairy-free, vegan, gluten-free, or do not drink alcohol?

At Stay n' Sip, inclusivity is one of our core values. We adapt to all dietary preferences, including dairy-free, vegan, and gluten-free options. Additionally, for non drinkers we offer a tasting of five non alcoholic shrub mocktails. Shrubs are fermented apple vinegar concentrate infused with herbs and fruits made to be topped with sparkling water and garnished to create a complex and sophisticated alcohol free option.

Do you provide table decorations for the experience?

Yes, at Stay n' Sip, we enhance the ambiance of your tasting experience by decorating the table. It is included and doesn't come at any charge. We use elegant touches such as candles, vases, designer spitoons, and beautiful flowers like magnolia leaves to create a warm and memorable setting for your event.

How much time do you need to set up?

Our hosts will always arrive well in advance of your booking. We allow time for unpacking all our items, setting the table and ensuring all details are seen to before your tasting begins. This can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the size of your group and the experience selected.

We will always provide an arrival time via email one week prior to your booking.

PRINCING AND PAYMENTS

How much does a Stay n' Sip service cost?

Pricing varies based on the type of service and the specifics of your event. Our minimum spend is $300 per booking excluding travel fee. Stay n' Sip offers a range of six wine tasting experiences, each with its own pricing structure:

  • Private Wine tasting: $50 per person ( min. 6x guest)
  • Fun Wine Tasting: $70 per person ( min. 6x guest)
  • Gourmet Wine Tasting: $80 per person ( min. 4x guest)
  • Paint n'Wine Tasting: $100 per person ( min. 4x guest)
  • Sensorial Wine Tasting: $150 per person ( min. 2x guest)

What payment methods does Stay n' Sip accept?

Stay n' Sip accepts the following payment methods:

 Are there any additional fees I should be aware of?

Our only additional fee is a travel fee. We include travel within Pokolbin, but we will travel anywhere in New South Wales for a reasonable fee of $1/km to and from your location. Additionally, there are no extra charges for providing non-alcoholic options or accommodating gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free preferences.

POLICIES

 What is Stay n' Sip cancellation policy?

At Stay n' Sip, we want to make sure our customers are satisfied with their booking. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • More than 7 days before the event: Full refund
  • Between 7 days and 48 hours before the event: 50% refund
  • Less than 48 hours before the event: Non-refundable

If you need to cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your options.

What is the refund policy?

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at hello@staynsip.com. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: 6 Peppertree Drive, Pokolbin NSW 2320.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like custom products such as special orders or personalized items. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method less a flat $10 return shipping fee within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at hello@staynsip.com.

Why do you charge a travel fee?

We charge a travel fee to cover various costs associated with providing our mobile wine tasting experiences. This includes expenses such as fuel, insurance, and the need to mobilize our staff, especially during weekends and evenings when we operate. These fees help ensure that we can deliver high-quality service and maintain the standards our customers expect.

How can I provide feedback on my Stay n' Sip experience?

What should I do if I am or one of my guest is intoxicated before my Stay n' Sip experience?

In accordance with RSA regulations and Liquor licenses in New South Wales, we cannot serve alcohol to individuals who are intoxicated or under age. If you or one of your guests is intoxicated prior to the experience, our staff may need to ask the individual to leave for the safety of everyone involved. The safety of our staff and guests is our top priority.

In some instances, we may offer a credit for a future experience to ensure that you can fully enjoy what Stay n' Sip has to offer. If you have any concerns, please reach out to us before your event so we can assist you.

Yes, Stay n' Sip can assist in renting a venue for your event through our network of partners. However, please note that this service involves additional costs based on the location and specific requirements of your event.

Can Stay n' Sip collaborate with a wine tour company to create a combined experience?

Yes, Stay n' Sip can collaborate with wine tour companies to offer a combined experience. We can coordinate a wine tasting with Stay n' Sip followed by your wine tour, creating a seamless and memorable event.

Can Stay n' Sip deliver the wine on the night of the event?

Stay n' Sip is flexible with wine delivery options; however, we adhere to all liquor licensing laws. Depending on the event and location, we can arrange for the wine to be delivered in advance or ensure it's available on the night while fully complying with regulations.
